Makoto Nakao received the honorary doctorate from the University of Turku

GC Chairman Makoto Nakao received the honorary doctoral degrees from the University of Turku (Turku, Finland) on May 26, 2017.

This year, the Faculty of Medicine conferred honorary doctorates to Chairman Nakao and Professor Irving Weissman, a world-renowned expert in stem cell biology and the Director of Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Medicine at the Stanford University (California, U.S.A.)

GC started collaborating with the University of Turku in 1999, and that cooperation became even closer after the founding of the StickTech company in 2011.

Currently, GC develops fiber-reinforced dental composite in close collaboration with a number of the university’s researchers including Professor Pekka Vallittu, Director of Turku Clinical Biomaterials Center.
